About Me

I am Muhammad Sumon Molla Selim, a Senior Software Engineer based in the Netherlands.

For over 10 years, I have been building software systems that need to stay reliable at scale. My work has focused on backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, platform modernisation, and DevOps automation. I work across Go, Java, PHP, Python, and JavaScript, with strong hands-on experience in AWS, GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and observability tooling.

A big part of my work is turning complex systems into simpler, more dependable ones. I have led work on distributed platforms, multi-region infrastructure, CI/CD migrations, internal engineering standards, and production systems that support high traffic and demanding reliability needs. I care about clean architecture, clear data contracts, good release processes, and systems that teams can understand and operate with confidence.

I also enjoy building where software engineering meets AI. I have worked on AI-powered Root Cause Analysis for production incidents, and I continue to explore practical ways AI can improve developer workflows, security, and operational reliability.

Beyond day-to-day engineering, I enjoy helping teams work better. That includes mentoring engineers, improving code review culture, shaping technical roadmaps, and creating shared standards that make delivery safer and faster.

Beyond Code

Outside work, I contribute to the wider tech community through mentoring, speaking, and community organising. I am an AWS Community Builder, a HashiCorp User Group organiser, and a Top 10 ADPList Mentor in DevOps. I regularly speak at conferences and meetups on cloud, DevOps, platform engineering, and modern software development.

I am also the founder of Klassroom.xyz, a non-profit education initiative focused on helping young people build practical technology skills. Teaching, mentoring, and opening doors for others have always been important to me.

When I am not coding, I am usually travelling, writing, experimenting in my homelab, or working on side projects around AI, infrastructure, and developer tooling. I like building useful things, sharing what I learn, and staying close to real problems.
